Terms of engagement.

Welcome to Designed to Connect. These terms of engagement outline the rules and regulations for the use of our services, including counselling, training, and any other services we provide. By engaging with our services, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Services Provided

  • Counselling Services: Designed to Connect offers individual, group, and family counselling services.

  • Safe Circles / Staff Wellness: Offered at workplaces, education facilities, organizations, families and communities.

  • Training Services: We provide various training programmes, workshops, and courses related to trauma-informed care and other relevant topics.

  • Supervision of Social Workers

  • This practice does not supply sick leave notes to employers.

  • This practice does not do court appearances or court reports unless that would be the reason for a potential client referred. That would escalate the fees as time needs to be factored in for report preparation.

  • This practice is not medical aid contracted.

Confidentiality

  • All client information shared during counselling sessions is kept confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party without the client’s consent, except as required by law. This includes, but is not limited to, cases involving harm to self or others, child or elder abuse, and court orders.

  • Detailed notes are kept of each session and every client has a file which is locked away.

  • No one has access to the session records but me.

  • Requests to supply other professionals for a feedback or reference report about a client who was in therapy with Designed to Connect, must come from the professional him/herself. No report will be provided to the client self.

Payment Terms

  • Counselling / Supervision Fees: Payment for counselling sessions must be made before a date can be arranged. Only after the full fee is paid will a date for the session be arranged.

  • Training, Talking engagements, webinars, staff debriefing and group activities fees: Quote must be requested a given. Once the quote is accepted, a 50% deposit must be paid immediately to secure the booking. The final 50% to be paid within 5 days after the event or training.

  • Methods of Payment: We accept only electronic transfers, unless other arrangements have been made prior.

  • The above all includes any specials advertised.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Counselling Sessions: Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a counselling session. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a charge for the full session fee. This includes any specials advertised. This includes supervision of social workers.

  • Training and workshop programmes, and Safe circles: Cancellations made more than 7 days before the start of the programme or workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the start date will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made after the commencement of the training programme or workshop.

  • Specials and discounted rates: For training, no refund of the 50% will be given if the training does not take place – another date to be negotiated and arranged. For individual or couple counselling – when a potential client takes up a special offer, no refunds are given if this counselling is cancelled.
